Eh? My point wasn’t about American perceptions of Afghan deaths. My point was that there were a huge number of dead afghan civilians who might quibble with the notion that 20 years of occupation were a “net benefit”.
The relative freedom of women during the last 20 years compared to prior Taliban rule shouldn’t be ignored though.
I don’t know how to weigh up the cost of lives vs freedom.
