Sweet!
New deck day for my daughter yesterday. Her first proper double kick - she’s been learning on a 27” cruiser so far. She was pretty excited about going to a proper skate shop and picking one out herself.

Pete Hellicar
Wow, that's a name form the past, is he still skating?
-
• #2184
Sure is - felt like it was a happy medium for now.
Need to get a bit more control back then can head to the park!

Can’t wait to be the irresponsible grandad that does this trip to the shops

Nordberg finally gets a deck
Was the king of the local park rats when I was last trying to skate. Glad to see he carried on despite getting dropped by flip. -

Heart in mouth stuff - videos like that give me the fear, wild level of control!
I can only slide the back end of my board out by a foot if i'm lucky, even then it's by absolute neccesity as the revenge trucks try to kill you at around 15mph - enjoying the longboard though, waiting on a lush dropthrough deck coming to mix it up a little

Anyone got a recommendation for a decent blank deck? Something that’s got decent pop and won’t delam instantly.

Not worth saving a few quid on a generic bit of Chinese maple; there are dozens of decent independent UK skate brands you could support by buying it from them. If you’re in London, Slam City is a good choice and you can stand on a board to see if it’s right. Online, https://www.paradeworld.com/uk/c/skateboards/decks/ has hunners.

Yep, there’s local shops here in Bristol like Fifty Fifty who I’d support if I wanted a graphic deck. I’m asking about decent blank decks, though. So from a factory with good quality control (so not from China), nice shape etc.
Edit: should maybe clarify: I want to do the graphics myself, so need a blank, but the board needs to be skateable

venomskateboards.co.uk do blank decks made in Devon, sold through Skatewarehouse.co.uk

Any idea how good the venom decks are?
That custom deck service is quite cool - couldn’t find any info on where they come from. Or are they the same as the venom ones?

Your Custom Skateboard use "USA maple", but don't say whether they ship the fully-formed decks over, or ship just the laminates and then form a deck in the UK, or ship the whole tree and chainsaw the whole thing themselves.
No idea on quality of the Venom decks, but at only £30 it's worth a pop (pun intended).

Fair dos. Have printed a ton of decks over the years with iFive and Jart, but they have a minimum order. Worth going to see Danny at 50-50 as he rode for Powell and their blank Mini Logo decks are alright, probably Chinese maple/made. Lovenskate in London screen their own boards, so worth a shout if they’ll do you a blank. Also Blast Skates.

I noticed these on eBay a while back when I was contemplating a cheap cruiser setup - some nice retro shapes if that's your bag, decent reviews & apparently 100% Canadian maple

Gnosis MFG are British made. They might do blanks, but last time I emailed them they were trying to get through a long list of back orders from people like Blast Skates who get their decks made by them. Gnosis also make decks for Brixton's Baddest Skate Shop and some others.

I think the mini logo decks are made by Skate 1, so are US made. I did look at Route One Mini Logo blanks but I read somewhere they’re not made by Skate 1. Couldn’t find out where.
I think Fracture do blanks and the boards are the same as Jart - how were the Jart ones you did?
I like it and 10 out of 10 for staged photo effort. Maybe just me but i'd like to see more setup pic's here.
