• Was on a ride last week with two guys who spent about 30 minutes discussing the merits of £4000 carbon gravel bikes, Di" versus SRAM eTap etc. both dressed out in about £600-worth of high end clothing.
On the trail it became pretty clear that their bike handling skills were a little bit "wanting". Maybe spend some of that cash on some trail lessons?

  • What would be a reasonable rate to charge for these 'trail lessons'?

  • Lessons are for tennis, golf and skiing.

Bike riding skills are acquired by trying things your mates are doing and falling off from time to time.

  • @LukeG made me aware of this - didn’t realise anyone else was riding with us, let alone earwigging on our très importante conversations.
Mind your own business next time.

  • I don't really get this attitude. They're not great riders and they have money to burn. And? Maybe they just like fancy bikes and aren't trying to optimize performance over cost.
