I wasn't super bothered about that - I'm only planning in using it in the UK where I've never needed freestanding. If you really want freestanding the Nemo Dragonfly might be an alternative - seems super similar to the Big Agnes and there's a bit more stock around. https://wildbounds.com/products/dragonfly-bikepack-2p-tent-stormy-night
