This really depends on if you want to do routing, I assume you’ll create routes since the screen size on either the 830 or 1030 is not really big enough or easy enough to use to be able to use it for map browsing.
Personally I’ve used the 830 really successfully for up to 200k rides using routing. The routing is easy to see with useful countdown to junction indicators. The integration with Strada routing is pretty good, I have no experience of other routing applications.

Considering getting a Garmin for my longer cycles. Stopping to check Google maps all the time is starting to do my head in. I already have a Garmin 745 watch.
Any recommendations as to which bike computer to go for?
