Has anyone got any restaurant recommendations in North London - within a 10/15 min drive from Muswell Hill? Perhaps an Indian in Wood Green?
Had a pub booked from my Mum's birthday but they had a positive test so I need to find somewhere else.

Methi by Ally Pally or Jashan on Turnpike Lane are both good.
Obviously a few pubs like the Bull in Highgate
http://osteriatufo.co.uk/ near Finsbury Park is a nice little Italian.
Or there are the Turkish places on Green Lanes.

Any good sous vide recipe books? My sister has offered to buy one for me (have looked after her lurcher while she is away on holiday).

Strangely the first time I had gammon egg and chips with brown sauce was when my grandad took me to his golf club. But it isn’t a meal I’d think to cook sous vide.

Did it have pineapple? Because would.

Ham, egg and chips is a fine meal. Two eggs per serving, and white bread on the side.

Deep filled steak pie
Cauliflower cheese with truffles
Wilted spinach
Onion gravyOut of shot creamy mashed potato
Consumed the next day cos we were stuffed
Bread and butter pudding with custard

Just a heads up for anybody buying Jasmine rice, don't buy this one it's fake. I fell for it because my local shop didn't get the real one in and the design looked similar.
The real one usually says Hom Mali and has a label that says which year the crop is from and Product of Thailand.

It has no flavour or fragrance and kind of falls apart when cooked.

Might a chocolate and hazelnut tart, little bit of orange zest. Even without the optional brandy it's got a rich booziness to it

I have a load of floury spuds (and cabbage and bacon and Parmesan) left over so gonna have a go at gnocchi. Any go-to methods or pro tips to share?

Above video is the recipe I use, although I've found it's not great if you freeze a batch then try to cook as and when
The sage brown butter one is great

That guy is annoying but yep, nice easy method. I'm gonna botch a sauce with savoy cabbage and pancetta because i have both things and they're both nice things that work nicely together.
Enjoy, only thing I change from her recipe is to cut the carrots and leeks smaller
