One of my very bright, normally evidenced based, mates is the same. Their main beef is the speed*, marketing drive and characterisation of covid vaccine sceptics/cautious people as antivax nutters.
All of which are fair enough concerns, but seem a bit contrived when viewed against the random drugs from random people they've happily put away over the years without needing to read a research paper.
*although having worked on a project financing a phase 2a trial for a drug, I think most people have little understanding of just how much of the "time" a drug takes to develop is waiting. Waiting for the trial protocol to be written, submitted, read, rewritten, resubmitted, CROs appointed, waiting for slots, etc. etc. With enough money and clear access to regulatory bodies you're talking about cutting 12m of fanning about in one phase into a 5 days (or maybe less).
