  • Just had this with my older Brother (we don't really see much of each other and speak even less) . I knew he'd flirted around the craters edge of conspiracy theories for a while. I just asked him if he'd had his jabs, this was his reply:

No, I don't trust the gov, I don't trust the shitty nhs, and I have followed this ''pandemic'' with an open mind regarding it's effects and I see a lot more going on and that scares me more than covid or coronavirus ,or covid 19 or whatever it's variant this week. Freedom of choice , in fact most freedoms are being lost, people are losing jobs and lives are being ruined because people want freedom of choice, never before even when we have had 44k dying of flu in a winter has this been done, I defend your right to have it , and mine not to, having it does not stop you getting it spreading it .. virus are ever changing and no ''vaccine'' can ever solve that, the history of virus and vaccinations tells us that.Stay well bruv xx

I mean, FFS where to start? 😔

  • I had a conversation with my brother when the vaccine was first being talked about. The conversation went something along the lines of:
Him: I'm not sure about this vaccine, it all seems to have come around a bit quickly, do we really know what's in it?
Me: I've seen you take a pill you found on the floor of a bar.
    Him: Yeah, good point.

He's now double jabbed for what it's worth

  • 'dropped' suppository ? bet it tasted like shit!

  • One of my very bright, normally evidenced based, mates is the same. Their main beef is the speed*, marketing drive and characterisation of covid vaccine sceptics/cautious people as antivax nutters.

All of which are fair enough concerns, but seem a bit contrived when viewed against the random drugs from random people they've happily put away over the years without needing to read a research paper.

*although having worked on a project financing a phase 2a trial for a drug, I think most people have little understanding of just how much of the "time" a drug takes to develop is waiting. Waiting for the trial protocol to be written, submitted, read, rewritten, resubmitted, CROs appointed, waiting for slots, etc. etc. With enough money and clear access to regulatory bodies you're talking about cutting 12m of fanning about in one phase into a 5 days (or maybe less).
