I hate

I have never got the hate that shuffling gets.

I have always enjoyed people who are enthusiastic and self expressed on a dance floor. The people who just stand and fist bump to the music are just dull. But I used to enjoy Mancuso’s loft parties with talc on the dance floor and jazz dancers in attendance. And for me the shufflers are on that jazz dance/northern soul continuum just with weird clothes and bouncy trainers.

I remember watching a short film about how the Charleston was angrily rejected as stupid (or even offensive) by older people in the 1920s and from that it'd be quite easy to argue that middle aged men thinking shuffling looks stupid is more of the same. However, 100 years on, the Charleston still looks fucking stupid so the grumpy middle aged folk were right in the 1920s and they're probably still right in the 2020s.

Shuffle dancing makes you look like a twat. I also hate it.

I dont mind shuffle, but it's ubiquitousness across social media (tik tok/ reels) is super fucking annoying.
Prefer proper footwork myself.

Every time I go over to my mate's place her elderly dad will try and force me to watch a shuffling video on his giant television... It's very strange, everyone in the family just rolls their eyes when he starts going on about it...
