Who the fuck needs a gravel bike?
The thread title I've been searching for!

i will accept incessant debate about 3-5 mm difference in tyre size
i will defend to the end of the earth, someone's right to post 6 pages debating cable housing pros and cons
i would stand in front of someone getting flack after daring to say "disc brakes might be good, actually"
i myself, would lay down my body for someone, to even debate the qualities of salmon brake pads vs clarks elite pads
but i draw the line at "you might actually need this mini computer to work your dropper post"
i imagine they're sold to the same people who have, nests, smart kettles and and every electrical device in their home having a weather app, the wallet inspectors favourite customer

Haha following the discussion and going back to the first bike posted made me smile

when you internally route your first dropper post, you'd be buying that AXS dropper on Klarna
also swissstop BXP in a road brake pad holder over any of that koolstop or clarks nonsense

also £150 for a cassette is 'cheap' these days in 12 speed world

this is what you post when u let big bike into your life
just externally route it with cable ties
clarks elite are literally fine and 1/4r of the price
nobody needs 12 speed, i'd argue 11 speed too, they should just only give 8 speed unless you want an 11-42

This, but unironically. Although I don't actually ride my bikes, I build them to have something to post on ig.

I fully agree except clarks pad

Putting a higher value on consumable parts is better for the environment. It should encourage people to place a higher value on the things they use and therefore take better care of them. If cassettes were £10 I wouldn't ever bother cleaning them and just bin them after a month.

Forks like this are for hybrid bikes that your nan rides to asda and back...

Once again, it is the rich responsible for the largest percentage of climate destabilisation practices :^)
-
• #20492
Lets not equate gravel cycling (products) to climate destabilisation directly too much. We have a car thread on the forum. Cyclists (pukes) shouldnt fight amongst themselves.

Only car drivers buy electronic droppers
People in the car thread should be banned tho

Why do you have to do the routing yourself, doesn't Trek ship the bike pre assembled?

I rode last night with a guy who had TT bars on his gravel bike. He was a great rider and has ridden 300k+ gravel rides but still...

There are 3 strains of gravel now:
- Gravel for chill (New Forest hybrids)
- Gravel for endurance (GB Divide, AMR, SRMR, etc.)
- Gravel for racer bros (pinarello grevil, that campagnolo video)
- Gravel for chill (New Forest hybrids)

XC bikes dont come with dropper posts :(
I am a pioneer.
I have already routed it and it works well, it was hell though. The angle from DT to ST is AGGRO esp around PF BB shell.
Who the fuck needs a battery in their dropper post?
