I've done this a couple of times, though not with one as tall as 2m! I've usually lightly wrapped the cactus body in bubble wrap, then supported with bamboo canes around it, taped to the pot and tied around at the top, then wrapped the whole thing in cardboard.
Keeping them upright has always been the main issue though, given the root ball's so small!

I think this is the right thread to ask, not sure I'll get anything but worth a shot, anyone has any experience moving house with a big ass cactus? It's around 2m high and about 50cm wide, we grew it from a small one and are keen to get it there in one piece so any advice on how to protect for move is welcome!
