  • Suzuki funny enough. They came standard on the GSXR 1000 K5/6 and are a common upgrade. Apparently 10+ish HP gain too, although we've all heard that before...

  • Cos the SRAD really needs the extra HP too…

  • Making some customs for the trials bike

  • I thought so too.

  • I take branding very seriously

  • That’s cool - I thought they looked familiar!

  • Thanks. The motivation I needed.

  • Took Duc for errands around Beverly Hills and WeHo. Spud is well and truly cooked but it behaved itself fine. Oil never went over 100c.

Much more fun coming back down Mulholland!

  • I just renew my MCE insurance and from £330 last year went down to £140, no claims but I'm still surprised by how much down it dropped.

  • Mulholland!

I would move to LA only to have a road like that, among another dozen of reasons. Congratulations, BTW!

  • MCE = no insurance.

  • I was insured with MCE when my Tracer 900 was stolen 5 years ago - paid out in full within 3 weeks.

They did try to increase my fully comp for my GS from £450 last year to £1,500 this year. Went with Carole Nash @ £290 instead.

  • I was with MCE, they took my wrote off bike all round the country, stored it in a lot somewhere and tried to charge me for storage, tried to charge me to have it delivered back, forced me to take it back despite telling them I have no way to legally store an untaxed and uninsured bike, nor do I want back a written off bike that cannot be returned to the road. They didn't care, just wanted to give me less money.

  • What do you mean?

I don't have a full comp, just theft, and third party.

  • MCE have a bit of a reputation for not paying out.

Although Soul had no issues with his claim, but PhilDAS did have issues.

I used them when they were cheapest, and have since jumped ship to cheaper providers.

Not had to make a claim though

  • Cheaper than £140 for a sportbike I don't think I can find one. And if the bike gets stolen will see, but I don't see how they can avoid the payment. In many years I always heard bad things about this or that insurance, I think they all try not to pay when they can find a "reason".

  • Yeah, you'll find someone who had issues with any given insurance company.

  • Years ago I did some research on motorbike forums and it turned out that you can't really trust any of them.

  • Anyone have any recommendations for good weatherproof motorbike covers that aren't Oxford? For an outside machine. Ta

  • I was mildly disappointed with my ~£800 renewal but it’s fully comp with various extras and about 50% of last year!

  • Yes, seems a lot, I paid the same amount for the basic premium 5 years ago, because they didn't have any record of me driving riding in this country.

  • Thanks this looks good!

  • Don't make the same mistake I did of getting the Heavy-duty one, ridiculously heavy, I send it back. And better a bit smaller, so the lower part of the wheel not covered, it will help for the condensation... You don't want to have it abundant, it will stay humid inside for ages.

  • City Mulholland is great now - it used to be terrible until they resurfaced it. Traffic and 35mph speed limits do apply though....

Malibu Mulholland is still fun, though getting a bit rough in places and the famous Snake remains closed after the fires a couple of years ago. The local swells have no interest in it reopening....sad.

Not a lot of fun riding around the city compared to London, though it is convenient.
