Here’s the listing. It’s advertised on PH so no point me trying to be coy.

Good start to ownership. Went out for day, 140km away, EML came on when going to leave. Drove back and all seemed okay. Looking forward to subaru bill. I don't have time to read codes etc before going away. Fun!
It was 3500eur so I've cash foe this to happen. But still, fun!

It did come on after doing a good 3km off road drive to a house maybe i knocked something. Fingers crossed.
Also well.impressed with it on shitty tyres, did exactly the job I bought it for, as I followed a 4x4.

Lots of cheap OBD2 readers that run over bluetooth to phone apps. A quick search should surface some sensible reviews.

ah here we go... on the transmission page
seems a speed sensor or the speed connection switch on transmission. maybe I knocked it loose down the road, hope easy fix!

You work a lot faster than me, nice work. The people at UKlegacy will surely be able to advise if you'd like a slightly more definitive diagnosis, well for an online forum.

You might want to flush and replace the transmission fluid ASAP. I'm crossing fingers and toes for you that it's not a valve body or solenoids that are kaput.
Edit, just refreshed... Ah speed sensor ...phew!

Still good advice to drain the fluid and replace.

Though reading the p0732 code is a bit worrying

Cleared the codes. Went for an Italian test, nothing come back on. Must be electrical.
Atf looks clean and spot on level

Be worthwhile checking the voltage of the battery, might be on the way out.
-
• #66122
Yes did that 12.45 engine off.
So wonder if loose ground maybe. Or is the speed sensor. If it re occurs ill investigate.
-
• #66123
Dead cell in the battery?
-
• #66124
That's beyond my knowledge of testing ability, I'll Google that.
I see what you're saying, because its less than 12.6 is not tip top. I'll check voltage again and keep an eye on it, with view to just replacing

Take battery off and charge it. See what the charger gets too.
Yes 2002 530i Sport Touring. 66k miles.
