I’m looking to sell my <30k mileage 1999 r1100gs. Seems ridiculous but this is the best pic I have of it to hand. If anyone’s interested I can take more. It has a Remus exhaust and original panniers and seat will be included. Very practical bike and lots of fun to ride. Sounds lovely.

Is it just me who can't see the picture, just a filename?
Posted that comment and the picture appeared...

How much? How many owners?

In its current SORN, un-MOTd, unridden-for-a-while condition – 2600. I’m considering giving it a full service and spit polish to list it for more as it’s a good model and v low milage. At least three owners since 1999, not sure total. I have MOT certificates proving milage and a folder of invoices showing care.

Door shot..
I’m in the market for a decent rear set and paddock stand.
Found a nice one from Lightech for the rear set but it’s spendy AF! 😐

Damn that is a handsome bike. I say it every time, but it merits repeating!

Out of interest, have you still got the bicycle to match?
-
• #18012
Both the Baum and the Mosaic yeah. The Ducati is the only steel frame in my stable. 😬

Grazie!

Can't see the rear brake master cylinder in the (lovely) photo, is it horizontally mounted near the engine?

• #18015
You will have to post a pic of the matching bicycle!! The Ducati really looks fantastic - more pics outdoors please. Stay safe!!!!

You can see it at 7 o’clock from the clutch. Just hiding behind my brake pedal.

Guess you missed this one;

The bike isn’t matching the Duc in terms of color way heh, just 3 fancy bikes together but that’s about it 😬

Great pics. As people say, it looks fast standing still!!

Ah yeah I see it. Does this have anything to do with wanting to fit new rearsets? My RSV was like this then new rearsets moved it away from the heat of the engine and positioned it vertically, now it actually works!

For me it's mostly linked to actual position of the brake pedal. It's quite far inwards and I sometimes find myself "searching" which apparently is less than ideal if you actually need to stop.
I remember some people placing some sort of heatshield between the cilinder and the engine indeed to improve the performance but your solution sounds like a more effective one.
I had my eyes on these:
I was initially looking at the non-R version (without ti hardware and carbon heelguards) but that's been discontinued.

Damn, been looking for something different on and off this year, think we talked last year about it!
Literally yesterday just spent my mc money on a new lens, also Glasgow so would have to get a courier if its not mot.
Edit, that's a no I shouldn't buy it btw, already bought two classics this year and have plenty of things to be getting on with -
• #18022
Ah, no worries. I think I’m going to get it MOTed for that ‘ride away’ vibe.

You’ll certainly have less trouble selling it.
There are a lot of clowns selling unroadworthy bikes without MOT under the guise of ‘easy fix’ or ‘no MOT will fly through’ and so on. Not that an MOT is a good gauge of actual riding condition, but I certainly avoid anything that has lapsed without a great reason.

Slowly hoarding parts for the winter, couldn't resist these Ti headers for the SRAD.
