As a moped, with a limit of 4kw/50cc and can't use the power over 30mph I think?
So yeah, a lot of building to make a moped.
I mainly watch the videos for the tech side of the builds. -

The vast majority of ebikes I see are also illegal
FTFY. Probably 90% of food delivery riders I see are on illegal bikes, plus 100% of owner operated e-scooters. The police clearly don't give a fuck.

The police clearly don't give a fuck.
Twice last week in Lewisham passed police van + panda + 6-8 white coppers with a black teenager and confiscated scooter in the back. It's a great excuse for them. Meanwhile 5 people a day are killed by speeding / drunk / phone scrolling cunts in cars

I don't know a lot of the legal stuff around it so "a youtuber said it" might not check out
Garages may/will not services a converted moped, ditto to bike shop servicing a converted ebikes.

Yeah, I imagine of you've got it working then you'd better keep it maintained yourself.
Can only imagine people's face if you walked something like that into a bicycle shop 😂 -

For a TT bike that's not too bad IMO

The grips look pretty specialist.

Until they make AA batteries powerful enough, his certainly isn’t the worst of the ebike bunch.

I think this looks great. The steel Powertube "cage" beats the pants off the huge hydroformed DTs you see on production Powertube bikes.

Agreed in the context of E bikes this is not the worst, however , its still a Minger

in the context of English bikes this is not the worst

All Giant MCrs are absolutely hideous, that one especially so, particularly with the Horrids branding. They were bloody fast, though.....

All Giant MCrs are absolutely hideous
The colour scheme and branding do this particular bike no favours, but without excessive UCI rule constraints monocoque upright designs would probably be widespread, especially with the potential of 3D printing for custom design. I would like to see more explorations of the single fork and chainstay used in the original Lotus bike.
This road.cc retrospective article is quite sympathetic to the MCR, discussing it in the context of contemporary designs outside of UCI scope in Triathlon and Ironman competitions:

So he’s made an ebike that is illegal (as a bicycle) so is outlining the hoops he has to jump through to make it legal, as a motorbike?
