  • I'm looking at getting an aero seatpost that would match the seat tube profile of my Super Pista and keep coming up with Toseek carbon aero posts, presumably made in China. Anyone had one? Are they worth a chance or not? I have had a seatpost break (USE titanium) and not keen to repeat the experience...

  • You might find other users in the Orient Express thread. I'm 17 races into this one, always at over 105kg, seems OK so far.

  • Oh right seems they are worth a go then, thanks

  • That's just what we have on the moment, and they work well so wanted to do a like for like replacement. We need to replace the locks as old keys have gone missing and have changed hands with previous tenants (especially a recently ex-tenant who's being very vague about what keys they have left).

  • they work well so wanted to do a like for like replacement

Then you might want to match the old model/brand. Not all locks are as well made as others. I wouldn't be surprised if a cheap lock has poor tolerances which makes it easier to pick/bypaas (if you care about that) and also more likely to stick when being used.

  • Most locks can be jiggled open so long as you have a key, any key, that fits the cylinder.

  • Portland climbing question/favour : Does anyone have a topo, picture guide or description of the Fallen Slab climbs that they’d be willing to share please?

Made it all the way here, forgot the (…) guidebook, can’t find free topos online. I just need to ID the fallen slab climbs (easy peasy for for gf to lead).

  • You might have better luck on this thread

  • Trying to find some stats on number of deaths caused by motor vehicle Vs cyclist for the UK. Gov stats doesn't seem to show this.

  • number of deaths caused by motor vehicle

"Caused" is your problem here. It suggests fault, which takes a long time to attribute. Table RAS40004 tells you how many people died in collisions with various other types of vehicle, so that more or less tells you the mechanical cause of death but not the legal cause.

  • Thank you. Found some boulderers who knew the way 👍👍

  • @freezing77 + tester thankyou

  • What’s the likelihood that eating a poorly gutted mackerel will make me ill. Just enjoyed a massive lump of fish shit courtesy of my wife’s less than thorough gutting. Stomach feels a bit off, nothing major, but I have a job interview tomorrow so could do with a word of reassurance 😅

  • "The gut microbiota of temperate pelagic planktivores such as mackerel, Scomber scombrus, and herring as well as tropical planktivores such as pipefish, Syngnathus scovelli, sardines, Sardinella longiceps, damselfish, Pomacentridae, and cardinalfish, Apogonidae, have all been studied (Karthiayani and Mahadeva Iyer, 1967; Hansen et al., 1992; Ransom, 2008; Svanevik and Lunestad, 2011; Parris et al., 2016). The dominant species reported were Gram-negative bacteria such as Vibrio, Pseudomonas, Psychrobacter, Achromobacter, Shewanella, Alteromonas, Endozoicomonas, Vibrionaceae and Pasteurellaceae" Source

Some of those bacterial types are known to cause human disease. If you ate mackerel guts which had not been heated enough to pasteurise, you'll have ingested those bacteria.

  • Deffo cooked through, hopefully I don’t start shooting liquid projectiles out of both ends.

  • Foffa update ?

  • Jesus, thread title delivers. "ANY question answered..."

  • @PhilDAS I remember you talking about replacing the dowel in carradice with a carbon pipe. Do you have a source for this? I am looking for a mega tall 20cm+ carbon spacer for the bullitt.

Sub-question; what should be the internal diameter for a 1 1/8 spacer in MM?

  • I was going to get it from eBay. There are a lot of listings for cheap carbon tube but in the end I did replace it with more wooden dowel.
A 1 1/8" steerer is 28.6mm. you want it tight but not pressfit

  • so a spacer would be 29mm ID?

ebay sellers have either 28mm ID or 30mm: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333609764631?hash=item4dacb10717:g:NdoAAOSwcuBgAd4Q

  • No I think that would be a bit loose. I don't think there's likely to be a not for purpose tube that will be exactly right

  • Met police have a report with blame attached, stats19? Can't remember for sure.

  • My liquids remain internal, which is a relief.

  • spacer would be 29mm ID?

    I make them 28.8mm
