  • Rang the crappy guitar shop near me, they said they could do that NUX pedal for fifteen bucks over the online price... I said fine, turned out they'd have to order it in for me! I LAUGHED IN THE GUY'S FACE... And told him to forget it, obvs...

Then I played through the TC Echobrain for a bit and didn't mind it so it's getting a reprieve... And I bought some new tyres for the 'adventure' bike so any GAS purchases will have to wait... I love my Jag into that TC compressor into the Super Champ, it's fucking great... šŸ™ƒ

  • Then I wrote a really cool riff with a couple of other parts to go with it and it's almost identical to...

    #crylol šŸ¤

  • I remember pretty much writing Weezerā€™s ā€œHash Pipeā€ about nine months before it came out. Such a dumb riff.

  • pretty sure i just noodled out "Love Removal Machine" which is pretty much "Start Me Up".

    stupid gretsch.

I've a real soft spot for that Echobrain. It's crusty as hell, but it has a real personality - I love that BBD graininess. It plays REALLY well going into a very pristine delay / reverb btw - I have mine going into a bunch of Strymons and it just works beautifully.

Speaking of, my ambient piano / guitar feedback / ebow album went live today on all good streaming platforms:

I even made a little video:

That's all the echobrain into a Strymon Flint, Timeline, and Big Sky. I usually find the Timeline / Big Sky a bit too pristine but with the echobrain crustying it up, something lovely happens. Anyway hope you crazy kids like it.

  • Because my sound is a bit crunchier it isn't playing as nicely with the Echobrain as the Space Echo... It's less Roky Erickson-ish and more something else-ish, the Space Echo just sounds bloody lovely... Will have a listen to your piano Opus!

  • First draft muck aboutā€¦ nothing is stuck down yet. I need to experiment with the order (currently fuzz> treble booster > comp > tuner > fuzz war > klone > visitor > delay) , I think the klone probably needs to be before the Fuzz War, also I might try using the Brown Acid fuzz instead of the JHS Benderā€¦ and/or loads of other optionsā€¦ actually think I need to go back to having the treble booster first, that almost always seems to work better.

  • Donner had a Ā£1 sale. So I ordered some
Pedalboard Velcro, a clip on tuner as a spare and some pedal jack cables (these were a fiver) so Ā£7 including shipping. Each item is coming via a separate delivery. Wowza!

  • Try Amplitude, it's a lot better imo. Guitar Rig always sounded kinda crap to me.

  • Thanks @Sparky for picking this up.... nice to meet you : )

  • Love the colour of that finish, that'll look great done up!

  • Looking good!

  • I'm really tempted to use it a base for the p90/goldtop that I want, but don't want to build from scratch... buuuut, I've already got a Les Paul and SG lined up - too many projects at the minute, it'd be a couple of years before I got round to it.

(Also - the colour is nice, I'd feel bad and you might not want me to strip it!)

  • I really don't care what you do with it!
Just trying to avoid having to literally put it into a bin.

    Just imagine the possibilities, people.

  • How's it broken? I could use it as a victim for my repair practice.

  • The big problem is a cracked neck. Obvs there's also the missing knobs / peg, etc.
If you zoom in on the back photo you can kind of see it.

  • I'd gladly put that repair on my to-do list (and maybe one day get around to it) if it's going to get chucked away otherwise.

  • Cool man... I'll send you a pm in minute : )

  • Messed with it alreadyā€¦ Not sure the compressor is making a lot of sense on this board, might ditch it for an extra modulation pedal or a distortion.

  • Thanks chap. When I fix this in 2032 I'll make sure to update this thread with pics.

  • Looking forward to it already!

  • Not a guitarist I play bass.
Years ago a studio engineer lent us some gs guitars to do a song. Iā€™ve always had a soft spot ever since. This Jag/Jazzmaster ? Ripoff looks ruddy lovely

  • That tobacco finish is awesomeā€¦

  • I like the Ocean Turquoise-ish colour but it's not really a Jazzmaster if it's got P90s (although I think I heard some chatter that the J Mascis Squier JM pickups are actually P90s)ā€¦ also would like to see a Mastery trem at that price point, or at least the option for one. Nice look though, I like that it's not a straight clone.

Personally still got a real thing for the AmProII JM in Dark Night.

  • @Regal I really like the look of that board man.

I need to sort out a new board. Mine is gash I quite like TS's idea of having a couple of boards too. One super simple one with the just the basics and a bigger one for... whatever. I've been dithering as to whether to make or buy...
