Lovely bike.
Is the chainring one of the 32/34T 94BCD Wolf Tooth? If so, where did you buy it?
-

Thank you.
Had to buy it on this website, can confirm it is safe!

Get some Sun Ringle Rhyno Lite XL, avalaible in 36 holes, they are so wide some v-brakes can barely pass them though
-
• #3205
Thanks!
Which guards did you use also?
-
• #3206
Some Vélo Orange stainless steel fenders

I was asking for my brother. The Sun Ringle Rhyno Lite XL in 36 was his 1st choice but he told me that they were not available anywhere.

Decided I needed a pub bike now my Surly is too shiny. Bought an old Nishiki then instantly saw a Kona Hahanna. Based on the comments in this thread I realised I had to have it.
Odd mix of parts with what would appear to be the original Joe Murray tyres, deerhead thumbies but a more recent Deore rear mech. The deerhead thumbies will be sold and then swapped over to 1x in time.

Thank you! And now have this to fettle with for the partner. She’s been requesting a Rockhopper for a while.

I sent the red Cannondale to my dad to ride to the golf club after realising it was way too small for me.
I felt sad and started building this Lava Dome to fill the void. Will probably end up with the stem the other way up - got most of an XTR group to go on there, just need to source cranks and a BB. This was supposed to be the budget build ffs

I’m trying to prevent mission creep on the rockhopper, parts box only. Except the white industry wheelset.

Very unsuspecting and slick, I like that.

A mates just picked up a Hard rock in that exact colourway. Looking forward to seeing what he does with it.
Here’s my rockhopper with some nearly colour-matched buses.

Any thoughts on brake boosters..? wondering whether to buy some to use with v brakes. mainly cos they look rad n stuff.
-
• #3223
They look rad n stuff for sure. :) Their actual usefulness still creates a ridiculous flame war among oldschool MTB riders. Some say they work, some say they are absolutely unnoticeable.
I mean I'd deffo use a set of anodized pink bling-bling boosters... -

Perhaps you can shed light on the brake booster question... :P nice bikes btw.

If you're braking hard and you can feel the seat stays flexing, go for it. Otherwise not worth the faff.
Thanks. Unfortunately hard to find them in 36 holes.
