Former pro and head of Danish Cycling, Jesper Worre, analysed their effort and concluded that their start was a bit off and three of the guys took too short stints at the front. Probably why they only set an Olympic record and not a new World record...

Their start was insanely fast, perhaps too fast indeed as they lost quite some time in the final lap.
Few of the other teams fucked up quite badly so there some contrast in there.
Look forward to the final, would be awesome if they break the wr once again.

He did mention their start being an area where they'd improved a lot over the last few years, but also suggested that it would probably be even faster if they nailed it just right. They are aiming for a new WR.
