  • I'd missed this on the BBC website, really nice piece around Peckham BMX.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/get-inspired/49126886

  • Anyone got a rear wheel I could buy?110mm

  • ⬆️ still looking. Also need a fork.

  • There's a fairly active BMX (race) trader group on FB, I can't link from here right now but will do later.

  • I'm aware of a few good groups on FB, but I'm not using that site.

  • looks like the gb team are back training. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fu5ZUhG86tk

wonder if there will be a race season in 2021

  • Fair enough.

  • They have to assume Tokyo will go ahead so it's full prep for then, regardless of if there's to be a SX season ahead of that.

  • yeah that makes sense!

  • Seems like this year isn't all cancelled yet either...

    https://www.uci.org/inside-uci/press-releases/uci-update-on-the-2020-uci-events-calendar

As for the 2020 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup, the two rounds scheduled for Rock Hill (USA) are going ahead and will take place on 6-7 November.

  • Interesting, that's good to see. On a different note, wonder what the longer-term prognosis will be for the GB BMX team now that BC is without a sponsor. Everything seems potentially up in the air

  • anyone on here berm involved in pump track funding/building project?

Early days but I've been asked to support development of a pump track build on our estate. Councillors & community assoc are on board, bid to be made to British Cycling places to ride fund.

  • Still on the lookout for a rear wheel or hub 10mm axle, 110 oln

  • Still on the lookout for a wheel

  • Has this progressed at all?
Can I ask where roughly it would be? London?

  • It'd be S.Mcr

The original "we've all but got the money" brief turned out to be too good to be true and it was far too late to bid to the places to ride fund.

It hasn't stopped there though. We've formed a group working with council to improve the park area, and are about to send out a consultation to residents to find out what folks would like to see done. We'll then develop a long term plan with the council and idea is to have generic bids on the shelf ready for when suitable funding pots open up. This might mean we end up bidding for skatepark or urban gym funding instead of bmx track as it'd cover what folks want & what funding is available.

There's a green strand to this too as wildlife conservation is likely to be important to folks, plus we still need to accommodate dog walkers etc in the space as they're the current major user group.

  • Probably doesn't need to be in either thread but: spoiler alert for anyone catching up this morning
