I was thinking to either getting these:
Or even some SJS stock wheels instead?

Oooh! Those straight pull ones look nice. And a darned sight cheaper than the Joseph Kuosac deep section ones I have on mine.

yo hoke!
Of course they can be serviced, havent you got a sealed bearing on yours tho? which means just replace the cartridge and on your way for £10 tops.
if not the cartridge type, I have cones / bearings / hubs / wheels ...
Ta!

Apologise as everyone knows I am OCD, but equally terrible at mechanics.
Are these the cone hubs?

Superlight hub. 2 bearings, 6900/61900. Do NOT buy a new wheel!

Thanks Rob.
Is there any difference with 6900 vs 61900?

Same bearing!

Need a hand replacing the bearing?

Get a decent branded bearing from somewhere reliable as there are fake bearings about.

Oh that would be perfect if you're around man. I have no idea on mechanics, but opened the cones and clean the bearings and thought that might improve the spin ratio. (still rough AF)

I'd like to use a single roll top city ortleib pannier on the front of my brompton.
Solution so far has been to use one of these type of things: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284373831129?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28&var=585901467213
But
a) the connection to the front block is shoddy
b) the size isn't quite right, so I have to clip the bag to the handleAnyone else got a solution that works? I'm thinking about commissioning a frame builder to build something. Like this but taller and wider and without the platform: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265016366969?hash=item3db434d779:g:s8YAAOSwfZRgAvC1

When and where would you like to meet?

I'd go to simply bearings or bearing boys and go for a branded skf/fag etc bearing. Any branded bearing that you buy check the packaging as there are lots of fakes.

i would just walk to the shed and shift through a million hoping to find 2 the right size!

Which is easier for you?

Nice, but for what I use brompton for - I only want to carry one bag perpendicular to bike

Have you looked at the H&H Titanium Front Rack?

A lot of money, but that looks to be exactly what i'm looking for.
Thanks!

Have got hold of a Dynamo hub plus spokes for the Brompton, and just need a rim, what’s the best option for a relatively lightweight/strong/durable rim to build it up with..
Probably not going to go carbon.

Brought some at Condor cycles.
How does one remove and install the bearing in the front hub? Do i need some specific tools?
@Hoke this really depends on the overall condition of the wheel and hub. You can definitely service the hub bearings but if the cones have pitting they would need replacing and they might not be easy to find individually and you may end up needing a complete axel kit.
If the wheel is in a really bad condition replace it otherwise service the hub.
Also I will selling a pair of original brompton wheels used for a only a few months. Upgraded to carbon wheels.
