Rowing, until recently in the UK has been a fairly exclusive sport I think. My grammar school had a boat house on the Thames.
More recently you’ve had talent scouting to find genetic freak kids kicking an airflow ball around at school.
Rowing
I did that once at school. It helped that one of the other student's father was the pres of the rowing club and of course that we had a nearby river. It does seem a bit ra ra over here. Is it because all the posh schools are on rivers? :)
All my rowing took place at Cleethorpes boating lake and being coastal , a bit of canoeing in the sea to earn a Sea Scouts badge.
