She knew there were riders ahead from when she attacked earlier and asked the bike camera what the gap was unless she didn't realise there were three of them.

Yep, but maybe didn't realise there were three/four and they hadn't reeled them all in? I dunno - just looked like a surprisingly effusive celebration for silver when anything other than gold would be seen as failure.

Van Vleuten definitely thought she had won - she was celebrating when she crossed the line and then a moment later looked very disappointed. Fantastic ride by Kiesenhofer.
