Nothing major hopefully! It’s had an intermittent electrical fault with the air suspension since the compressor was replaced…. For some reason it’s randomly going down to the lowered position, and not letting you put it back up to normal ride height every now and then. Then it randomly just starts working again after a while.
Mechanic is pretty sure it’s most likely down to a problem with the wiring somewhere, and should be a pretty easy fix, but finding the problem is a how long is a piece of string deal….. they have been really good about it though, and said they won’t charge more than two hours labour to fix, but will be doing it around other jobs so I’ve have had to leave it with them for a week or so…. Hence the sick courtesy car.
Kind of annoying though, as we are going to a friends ‘festival’ wedding in a field somewhere in Somerset on Saturday, and camping overnight…. We were gonna Chuck an air bed in the back of the Disco and just crash in the back overnight, but now will have to do the whole tent thing, which is always a PITA for a single night.

Also, this Mercedes thing is so laughably shit it’s actually quite fun…. Every time I drive it I find something new that is so bad all you can do is laugh at it.

A good LR garage? Buy a lottery ticket...
Fingers crossed it's an easy solve.

A mate ran a C5 S6 for a couple of years, he bought it with just under 80k miles on the clock. He came slightly late to the realisation that it would have been way more fiscally responsible to have set fire to the £12k he paid for it.
Made a lovely noise when it was running though. -

V8's are quite a lot of fun.

Yes, I don't dream to purchase such a thing!

Thought german cars were reliable...

Why not?
Am looking at chrysler 300 estates and how to rebadge it as a lancia.

Not as much fun as V10s. Although the V10s are even more financially ruinous.

My pockets are shallow. I'd rather spend money on bikes than cars.

Yet whenever I start to consider swapping the E63 for an E60 M5 Touring everyone acts as one to convince me not to

Had one with the old golf 1.6 8v engine in it, more torque than rev's. Literally the cheapest 5 years of estate/doing useful things car I've ever had. Bought for £1600 with 40-50k on it, one owner serviced every year or 6000 miles whichever happened first. Needed nothing but tyres, oil and brake pads for 5 years and around 90k on it. Sold for £800, and the guy was so chuffed with it he gave me £850. Saw it pottering around for another 2 years before it got a front + rear traffic smash.
Not fast, not good at corners, not good at long distance comfort, ugliest car on the street, not good on fuel (40mpg was about it, usually less), but it did have electric windows and a boot big enough for 2 dogs. -

Why not just get the s2000 as it will be better handling than the MGB with out serious mods.
Or is it that the are quite a few s2000 motors available as the light rear makes it easy to run out of talent on roundabouts or slip roads.

Another happy wechillanycar customer here. Gas wasn't that low (420 whre it should have been 600), but there was zero oil. Also, the anti-bac/sanitising makes the car smell nice and clean. Job finished in under half an hour. Gave him my key, he cracked on, came back with my key, took card payment and buggered off. £59.99

That is wonderful!

I fully support your desire to buy an e61 m5

But I won’t support your maintenance costs, soz

I'm tempted to move the E63 on and use the funds that that releases to put a deposit on a VW California Beach Camper and pick up an E60 550i M-Sport Touring.
True.
Or kill the current tyres by practicing your drifting skills.
