Its likely I'll get it, it's 1.5k so a great barge. The guy is getting it an mot and if it passes I think why not. Will do everything a 7k car will and I won't have to worry about it.

If you can sift through the BS of people asking about Polestar maps over and over and over it's got a fair bit of knowledge on there.I've gone from a V70 P3 > XC90 P2 > XC90 SPA.
XC70 so long as you arm yourself with a T25 you'll be able to take the whole thing apart. They're pretty easy to work on. And the only real problem with the 2.4 is the swirl flap arm - best case, it's a £5 part (new arm) worst case... just push it to the open position and never think about it again. Parts are cheap too, certainly second hand. A lot of FMco stuff. I got a whole heated seat for £30 just because I tore my base! Binned the rest and kept the cushion only.
If you do get it, and then get a VIDA DICE (Volvo dealer diag tool) then save yourself loads of time trying to get all the pre reqs running and just download a VM image from here: https://volvodiag.com/download/

Though launching is fun; you can also just try turning the prop shaft by hand - if it spins.. walk away or get a decent discount and replace the sleeve (hoping it's the sleeve).
Verified my P2 XC90s AWD this was having spent many hours surfing forums.
By the way, if you do end up with a Volvo of P3 flavour then a VIDA DICE is a 100% must have. It enables you to basically do FULL Volvo diagnostics at home for the price that a single trip to have it plugged in would take. Gives you full step by step for everything - troubleshooting to resolving - and all wiring diagrams too!
