Ultimately I wonder how much is going to be done by the EU for the furrin's here and by the UK for the Brits abroad, as the citizen right parts of Brexit is under EJC supervision for 8 years.
The UK part is overseen by the Independent Monitoring Authority which reports to the institutions overseeing the Withdrawal Agreement (i.e. the arbitration panel).

I had an interview with the Trust a month ago. The question didn’t come up.
Didn’t get the job, but I wasn’t mega into the role

Tx!
I just don't know what it means in practice.
Will it end up with many undocumented and "illegal" EU immigrants / their children in X years?
Or will arbitration judge that the HO must allow more time?

No hampers for me. Tx Brexit!
(The local deli is £££ unfortunately. Lovely food though)

So this has been going on for years…why would Britain’s right wing establishment have any interest in destabilising the National Trust with all its lucrative swathes of frackable grouse mooreable land and loot I wonder?

Has anyone dealt with a warranty claim with an EU seller for something purchased prior to Brexit?
I have a Quarq power meter that needs to be warrantied but the seller has just told me to "send it back" and provided their returns address in Germany.
I understand there's a system for duty relief on goods that are exported and reimported for repairs but it's unclear on the HMRC website which forms to complete for this.

EUSS a legal mess, instead of properly addressing late applications / late response it's just a weird "ignore the law" fudge.
Once the fudging stops, it's probably hostile environment time (as that's the law)

You’re right:
I imagine we’ll be hearing more and more stories like this. Depressing. And awful for those affected.

That's awful. Why the fuck was her employer not all over this shit the second it sounded like it was going to cause the employees issues? I can't imagine the care home industry doesn't have a lot of non-UK born folks on it's books.
Rhetorical question, I know most large employers couldn't care less. I feel very privileged that mine was not one of them. Even though I personally am not at risk, access to legal advice and information was made available ages ago.

Disappointing employer too. You would think they would work with their staff months before the deadline to make sure they had the correct paperwork.

I don't understand what he says--he claims to have voted for 'Brexit' as a businessman, but in what way did he expect it to benefit his business, when it now doesn't? Then he doesn't seem to want to admit that if he could go back and vote again, he'd vote against 'Brexit' not only as a private person, who values freedom of movement, but as a businessman, too, but he doesn't say what he thought would be in it for his business in the first place. Surely that staff issue must have been staring him in the face all along?
But whatever, I don't think this is a very powerful video. All it seems to say is that he can't employ people on really low wages any more, and that he can't get shit beer trucked from far away. Someone could easily reply that people should be paid better wages, even if bar prices then have to go up (which I obviously realise is a bit cyclical), and that he should be stocking good quality locally-produced beer (courtesy of that nice Gordon Brown).

I agree.
In a way I think that brexit and pandemic might have lifted wages for low pay jobs which is a great news. As a customer I am more than happy to pay the premium.
