  • You put a bowl of water with a fair amount of washing up liquid detergent in it on the floor then place a lamp above and they seem to jump in to their ultimate bitey itchy little bastard demise!

  • Do you get to see their miserable little bodies flailing around helplessly?

    Does it need to be an incandescent / hot bulb, or will LED ones do (is it the light / heat / both that attracts them*)?

    * I'm hoping you're a research entomologist...

  • Ha! No idea what works best, I'm just using a standard lamp with one of the bulbs you get these days (can't remember what they are called)

    Yes the little fuckers try and swim but to no avail. Soap breaks the water tension. Without it they can 'surf' along and find the edge of the bowl and climb out. Total bastard things.
