Just had to rescue Cannoli from our tree for the third time in a few days. Maybe my plan to leave him up there until he figures out getting down himself is flawed....

How old is Cannoli?

Then plenty of time to learn. Your plan is not flawed. :)

Another hot cat here. There’s a fan on the floor in one room but she doesn’t seem that fussed about it.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well Ned has adopted to Valencia summers, after spending his first three years in the UK.
He still obviously gets hot and slows down a lot when it gets over 25 degrees, but he’s nowhere near as lethargic this summer compared to the last two, and is finding so many nooks to hide in.
The best is how he finds the best place to lie to catch all the breezes, which seems to be under the dining table on one of the chairs. He also loves a cupboard.
He has got three bowls of water constantly being filled with water and ice … I reckon he drinks almost 1.5 litres a day right now.
Can’t be too bad if he’s lying on a big furry rug.

Ciccio just went out now, in summer time the night is his day.

It's summer, so the cats never eat as much during the day, and we have to bin half of the morning wet food before it becomes flyblown.
What's new is that both the cats turn up 5 minutes after we clear the food out, meowing about how hungry they are.
Arseholes.
I'm glad neither of you enjoyed yesterday's flea treatment.

I wish mine would stop eating so much in the summer! I went away for the weekend and the cat sitter totally overfed the cats and Meabh now looks like an airship.

Our cat sitter love our cats through overfeeding too.

You put a bowl of water with a fair amount of washing up liquid detergent in it on the floor then place a lamp above and they seem to jump in to their ultimate bitey itchy little bastard demise!

Do you get to see their miserable little bodies flailing around helplessly?
Does it need to be an incandescent / hot bulb, or will LED ones do (is it the light / heat / both that attracts them*)?
* I'm hoping you're a research entomologist...

My boy had so many skin allergies reactions to these anti fleas products. One day, me fucking idiot, thought it was better to go to the vet for a prescription anti ticks and he almost died, he had a peak of anemia that the vet kind of suggested to put him sleep. Fortunately I say no way, I found a product for horses which raise red cells, I think doping?, which in a smaller dose can be suitable for cats as well, anyway after two three weeks he resurrected, the vet said that he was very surprised. White cats.
