Don’t want to put the dampers on the lifestyle of you lovely people ( heaven only knows how many times I have been tempted to buy a dub bus) but just thought I would give a heads up on what’s going on down here in the far south-west of the UK.
I have some (homeowner) mates who have a Renault traffic conversion and are in the process of kitting out a live-in horse box for weekend outings. They have lived here all their lives and their local knowledge is vast but recently have seen a rapid reduction in the number of potential overnight locations. It seems like there is a sudden increased effort to narrow, height reduce, gate or berm access to a large number of pull-in areas. Up too is the number of patrols of officers moving people on.
In short, if you are looking to wild camp your camper down here, forget it.
Not seeing this much in Somerset, (right on the border with Devon) but the m5 is absolutely rammed with holiday makers like I have never seen before, I can’t imagine what it’s like further south!
