  • Looking for an isofix car seat for small baby, with a swivel base as they seem good. Is it a good idea to get one that goes from baby - 3 years? Or better to buy individually for each stage?

  • For small babies I'd say you're more likely to be lifting them in and out of the car in the seat so I wouldn't worry about the swivel bit too much and potentially look at separate ones for 0-1 year (that detach) and then a swivel one for 1-4 years.

I'll try and find our one. We really rate the swivel and it goes up to quite a big weight / age.

    -ives are:

    1. you can't have a removable one that slots into a buggy (but imo that is a short lived feature as baby puts on the lbs)
    2. They're fucking heavy, and not quick to install/reinstall.
    3. They take up more room, so depending on your car the front passenger seat won't go back as far as you might like.
    4. They're more expensive.

Despite those downsides we'd still buy one again if we were doing it again and a few people with the pram compatible ones switched.

Most importantly I'd say the swivel really comes into its own and saves your/your partners back if you don't have an SUV or 4x4.

We moved no. 1 into a very similar model to sacredhart's - ours is the version with a cushion.
