Guardian reporting that Johnson said he was
Concerned by the continuing risk posed by nightclubs
12 hours after opening them all back up again, before their opening nights ...

Doesn't want to see vaccine passports applied to pubs but can see them being brought in for small, enclosed places where strangers come together, hmmm

On the day he dropped all restrictions, he's literally talking about introducing brand new restrictions, legislation and documentation...

Was on Billy Bragg face book page, as he is wearing his mask whilst still advocating mask wearing in others.
The replies show how fact resistant some people are.

Most of them in my daughters bedroom apparently.

Of course this will just start a rush on them as soon as tomorrow's batch is made available.
LFDs will be the new rice, toilet rolls or chopped tomatoes.

What’s the current thinking on probability of catching it twice, what sort of time frames etc?
Anyone here tested positive with a PCR twice? -
• #22836
5 tests for £10 to you ;)

Super impressed with the UK nightclub industry literally opening doors at 1 minute past midnight this morning. Government is going to fuck them over.

Anecdotal friend of a friend has just achieved this, 15 months apart, very mild the second time for them

Double jab requirement for nightclubs is a good move.
Think it should have been implemented from today.

Know a couple of people working in London nightclubs. They are awaiting their test and trace pings to isolate.

The four of us had it start of January.
We are double jabbed >two weeks.
Both children are coughing pretty badly. I had a temperature last week.
Off to get PCR tests today 🙄 -

May be a repost, soz but apparently majority of Covid misinformation came from 12 people, guardian report finds

Local bar/restaurant near me insists on double jabs or max 48 hour old COVID test to get in on Friday night and Saturday/Sunday. Everyone thinks it’s reasonable which I’m sure helps the staff a fair bit (I’m not in the UK)

I suspect the vaccine passport for nightclubs is less about infection risk and more about driving vaccine uptake in young people.
Although I do wonder how many clubs will properly scan them (and how that will be done) and how many will just accept anything that looks like a QR code.

All you need to do is look to NL to see how that worked out for them...

I'm pretty sure its been brought in on the hoof as France announced something similar last week and it massively increased vaccine uptake amongst the young.

1 year old came up in a rash the last 24 hours, after having a runny nose last week.
Doctor said it could be COVID so we're all off to the PCR test centre this morning.Had our 2nd vaccine booked in for this afternoon, timed for a trip to France in two weeks. With this and the quarantine rules on return, it feels like that holiday is DOA.

Pretty sceptical of the reasoning for the double vaccine requirement for clubs. I bet there's a healthy dose of politicking in there - young club-goers don't vote for the Tories, but old people who go to the pub do
Not that I'd ever want to set foot in a club again

Jesus Christ, people getting pinged left right and centre.

Absolutely zero travel insurance companies are paying out on cancellations for trips to amber destinations, right? We're booked to see the parents in law in Spain next month and my wife insists I'm just not looking hard enough and it must exist, but I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall when I say they've washed their hands of it for almost a year.
Really, now that is a surprise. Wondering if announcing the LFTs might be charged for.
