If you’re looking to purchase a personal travel insurance policy then it’s not a great market right now, this article provides a good overview of the situation

A word of warning though - I don’t think even the top rated policies provide cancellation cover if the FCDO advise against all but essential travel to your destination at the time you book. FCDO advice is different to the Red, Amber & Green lists.

Absolutely zero travel insurance companies are paying out on cancellations for trips to amber destinations, right? We're booked to see the parents in law in Spain next month and my wife insists I'm just not looking hard enough and it must exist, but I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall when I say they've washed their hands of it for almost a year.
