Can I use regular drop brake levers with some old cable disc calipers?
-
• #109104
Depends on the calipers; e.g. BB7s come in road (would be ok) and MTB (not ok).
-
• #109105
Would certainly be MTB, so no go.
Thanks

Other options have been suggested, but if it needs to be B&Q, the one on Purley Way was chopping up stuff for people on Thursday when I was there. Probably quite far South for you though.

I'm in Central London (North Lambeth tube) till Wednesday for a short art course.
I now realise (a bit late) that wearing a face covering in this weather is unbearable.Where can I find a place selling PPE face visors today in the area?
-
• #109108
I've found the disposable, medical type ones feel lighter than the reusable fabric ones. No help if that's where you're starting from anyway.

I think your other options are Tektro RL520 levers (about £20 and what I use with the same setup - but these are obviously not regular drop levers) or inline problem solvers travel agent (not made anymore and a bugger to get hold of).

PPE face visors do nothing in a wondering around in a public place while potentially being infected and not knowing it context.

Any idea what year Klein Attitude it is?
Mostly Bontrager parts, Shimano brakes and RockShox Recon fork - seller asking 400€ (good or bad price)?

I need to get a couple of sheets of plywood cut in to a handful of specific sizes.
Where are you based? I have a woodwork shop in Woolwich

Can anyone here report on their experience of pushing a Dura Ace 9000 rear mech to shift a 30T cog? (These days 28T bottom gear doesn't seem quite low enough.)
-
• #109114
depends on the frame geometry and if you have enough take up in the chain
-
• #109115
Errr yes you're not wrong but I was hoping to hear from riders who'd actually used this config
-
• #109116
2008, I reckon.

Don’t know about the price.

Only you can decide, but there are Klein fans out there who will pay that.

Tnx!

I understand that pre Trek period Klein bikes are more valuable than new ones…
-
• #109120
This is probably true, but Trek era ones still seem to be more sought after than equivalent Treks. Anyway, what somebody else thinks it's worth is moot, unless you're hoping to grab a bargain and flip it.

Can I get the cast iron ends of a bench powder coated? I need to replace the wooden slats so I thought I might as well jazz up the ends too...
-
• #109122
Absolutely, but the shot blasting might be the expensive part if they're quite intricate

What the best cheap bike GPS I could use for navigating off road (king alfred's way)?
-
• #109124
Handlebar phone mount, battery pack, and OSMand would be cheap to assemble and work perfectly
-
• #109125
I've basically been doing this with an old phone and the Komoot app. Phone only lasts for 3.5hrs, though so even with a batery pack I'm not sure I'll get enough recharging opportunities to last the full 4 days... unless OSM drains the battery significantly less than the komoot app.
Legend, top shout!
