  • To be fair they could probably organise a really good piss up in a brewery, I bet there would be loads of drugs because they’re clearly on some really good gear.

  • All the gear they supplied for the NHS was expensive and through their mates rather than an established connect, so I doubt it.

  • Amazing. Tomorrow morning he's going to release the nation from their viral obligations, whilst he and all his contacts are unable their stately homes. There must be more of them that'll be announcing shortly that they also met with the PM/ chancellor / health secretary on Friday and have chosen to self isolate.

It could have come straight from The Day Today.

  • Maybe the real plan is that in two weeks time, so many people will be self isolating that pubs, restaurants, clubs etc will be so short staffed that they’ll have to close in a pseudo-lockdown. Then they can argue that they still delivered Freedumb Day.

  • Or chaos with Ed Miliband...

  • Buddy of mine cancelled some plans we had this monday just gone as his partner had lost her sense of taste and smell and was waiting on a pcr result. but was supremely confident that it was something else as her lat flow test was negative and her PT who they think she caught it off (exact same symptoms) had tested negative for both lat flow and pcr. her test came back positive, so they were right to isolate but that PT has probably seen dozens of clients.

my pal has been doing regular lat flow tests while isolating and all were negative, pcr test for him comes back yesterday... also positive.

seems like any situation relying on the lat flow tests may as well be pissing in the wind in terms of prevention of spread (I know it's better than nothing and may catch some cases).

  • 'An excuse to hang around in Chequers rather than go back to London for tedious meetings? Oh okay then.'

  • I wouldn't trust them not to piss on my shoes and blame me for it

  • every time these clowns tell everyone to drop their guard, i take it as a cue to double ours. it's fucking exhausting having to continually compensate for everyone else's couldn't give a fuckery.

    CON +5

  • How did we end up with these clowns in Government? I wouldn’t trust them to run a bath.

While you know this, it does bear repeating: Anointed by the international corruptocracy.

  • How did we end up with these clowns in Government?

Because they overwhelmingly won in the last election. I don't like it either, but it's as much an indictment of the general population of the UK as it is of the morally bankrupt nonentities currently governing the country.

  • I get that. I'm just astonished that so many people can't see them for what they are. We've had a Conservative government for 11 years now, yet still a large swathe of the population can't seem to connect the situation we're in with the policies they have.

  • My workplace, large Train Operating Company Control, has huge amounts of track and trace pings and the absences they create. This includes me until next Friday. In a lapse of sensibility I checked my work email and there is one from last Friday offering us the test everyday trial, albeit voluntary.
Whether or not this has been sanctioned by someone up at Shapps's department remains a bit of a mystery and is not stated.
Whatever, I will still be off until Saturday.

  • I get that. I'm just astonished that so many people can't see them for what they are. We've had a Conservative government for 11 years now, yet still a large swathe of the population can't seem to connect the situation we're in with the policies they have.

They've been brainwashed with "Just think how much worse it could be with the others!"

  • Plus the general population is as thick as shit, decades of sub standard education, no critical evaluation, in a trance of tabloid and social media compliance

  • Chickens coming home to roost for (one of) the architect(s) of Brexit

  • What is the point of 3 days of isolation?

EDIT Being informed by test and trace.

  • Well, look like everything is going ahead.

Lockdown No. 4 it is, or is it 5?

  • 8 hours apart...

  • How long are people finding PCR test results take to come through? Son had a test on Saturday, still waiting for the result today.

  • do you have a link for that graph or is it for FT subscribers only? I was googling but couldn't find it.

There are a few friends I wanted to show this to, but they are dismissing my screenshot.
