I played a lot of Biz Markie tracks yesterday, his generation switched me on to forgotten grooves that were sampled by hip hop back in the 80s. My record collection is stronger, for that I give thanks, such pioneers with vision. Tracks like Isaac Hayes piano loop @1.44min at the original speed, sampled in ‘making music with your mouth’, springs to mind.
