Has oblique aerial photo view gone from google maps?
Recently (few months ago?) they updated the aerial photos so lots of them were super high res and recent, but now that's gone really low res pixellated as well.
Anyone know a way of getting it back or why this has happened? -

Not having that problem myself but I do find Google maps has times when it doesn't want to play nicely and then sorts itself out.

So it's just me? That is annoying. It's been like this a few weeks, computer has been switched off and on again etc. Don't know how to fix it.

By 'oblique' do you mean 3D view?

Mine doesn't have a 3D button in Chrome or Safari.
You can use Google Earth, which does have a 3D mode:
https://earth.google.com/web/@51.50820946,-0.14384172,48.61398534a,1586.27490018d,35y,23.80561685h,59.91505026t,0rThere was a time when Maps had an embedded "Earth" mode. Not sure if they folded it in or abandoned it.
If you have a Mac or iPhone, Apple Maps has really good 3D imagery (and zero other merits).

'Oblique' - yes 3D. I've lost the 3D button. But the 2D aerial photos are also lower res than they were.
I'd forgotten about Google Earth and it's good but a bit of a pain to load. Google Earth, regular Maps and My Maps or whatever it is, why aren't they the same thing?! -

I need to get a couple of sheets of plywood cut in to a handful of specific sizes. I went to two B&Qs yesterday and both of them had their cutting stations closed. I suspect staff shortage issues. You can't seem to get in touch with any of the actual stores over the phone, and I don't feel like spending another day aimlessly hoping one may be open. Anyone have another idea of how I could manage this? There are some fancy custom wood cutting web pages for boats, but they are pricey.
tldr: need plywood cut to specific shapes. Any non-B&Q suggestions?

Google Maps sometimes switches into a lite mode if you don't have enough computrones or something. There is sometimes a link in a bottom corner to go back to full mode. Do you have anything like that?

Conveniently cycle friendly.

ooh I clicked on the info at the bottom of the window that said 3D not available, which offered a link about system requirements, which was unhelpful (I'm on latest chrome and Win10) but when I clicked the link from there to Maps - I have the 3D button back! Woohoo :)
Edit: however this only seems to work using that link, if I go straight to maps in another window, it doesn't work :/
Edit2: It seems to be as simple as - http://www.google.co.uk/maps/ or maps.google.co.uk leads to low-res, no 3D. Using http://www.google.com/maps/ or maps.google.com leads to 3D high-res joy. Is this a Brexit thing?

I get 3D using either of those links. Haven't noticed any loss in quality recently either.
I never use the 3D button, zooming in and changing angle with ctrl+LMB always does the trick.

Bizarre. I used to just zoom in and ctrl mouse too, until it just stopped working.

Go to 'Layers' (bottom left corner) and then 'More', then 'Globe View'.

When we need to send a malware sample from one person to another we can’t use a work system as it’ll be identified and quarantined. This can’t be turned off, and works across every platform that we could use to share a file that is provided by work. So we use Gmail to email it, which works fine.

Would you like to help me out for a forum donation?
I don't have the tools for a Macbook, nor do I have the time I'm afraid. I don't even have time to complete work stuff in work hours so here I am working on one of the hottest days of the year which happens to be a Sunday... so nope, can't help in this case.

Is there a thread like bike porn but just for paint jobs?
Yes, and it will let it right back out again. Water ingress is rarely a problem unless it gets stuck in there.
