What was the price paid at checkout?

£598.84

Ta, I want to order some forks soon. Good to see some real life numbers. Seems it's a lottery, still hearing of some folk getting away without any to pay.

If it’s under the £135 threshold then Lordgun pays the VAT to HMRC, over that and you have to do that via the courier.
I don’t know what happens with the 4.7% import tariff on the lower value stuff but I would expect to be paying 20% VAT and 4.7% import plus the FedEx handling fee on the AXS. I couldn’t find the AXS in the UK so no comparison available.

£757.28 and if it were in stock at Sigma it would be £858.51 (with my discount, £975 without. I imagine you get said discount because you have an account).

so this is the "happy medium" the b screw needs to be at to ensure all the gears can be reached.... something must be wrong
did have a look at the chain length and it seemed ok - maybe I am being to conservative?
i do want to go to a smaller cassette tbh - 34t doesnt suit my riding style at all (not touring/bikepacking). the chain slap when you're in the 11t is ridiculous. this may help

I’d want to run it through gears myself and check things before giving any advice I’m afraid. You’re in Guildford?
-
• #4837
If you’re pushing the extremes of gear capacity the mech should be practically horizontal in big-big. Looks like the chain could be much shorter. But never too short for big-big.
Enable synchro mode so you never shift in to the small-small gears.

• #4838
Looks like you need more b-screw in. Or just go to a shop if you can find anyone to do it on the spot
-
• #4839
if the b screw is tight than that the derailleur wont engage the larger cogs. this was the initial issue when it was shipped to me
@Dammit yeah I am in Guildford but heading on holiday on Thurs. Going to play with the chain length then if that doesn't work drop it to Hoops in Farnham when I get back
@grams synchro mode is already semi-enabled. it knows not to put it into small small; hence in that photo its not on the 11t

How did you size the chain?
The RD looks totally wrong position in the first pic.
-
• #4841
The chain does look too long to me, but I've not sized a chain for a modern Shimano road system, so acknowledge that I may well be wrong.

When I installed my Di2 GRX groupset recently I followed the shimano manual on sizing the chain length (which is already a little vague at the end) and had the same issue i.e the chain was super slack in the small chainring and in the lower gears before Synchroshift blocked going any further down the cassette. I've since took out one 'link' (to match correctly for the quick link) and it's better but I'm probably going to take out another one soon. Chainring cassette combo is 46/30 and 11-36 so I expected it to be a bit slack given that this is the largest front differential shimano recommend and 36 is slightly beyond their limit on the rear derailleur (34t). B-screw adjust did also help improve shifting for me, but I would agree that chain length seems to be the biggest issue here.

the chain looks probably too long, but have you tried calculating the chain length ? it's a good way of double-checking.
-
• #4844
I mean screw it all the way in, looks like the pulley it's still a bit too close. Chain looks very long if all else it's correct

Fedex coming today rather than tomorrow apparently. Much excite.
-
• #4846
as i said - if it is too tight in it just won't shift (which was the original problem if you look back a few pages)
thanks all for the considerations on chain length. I will review and get back to you!

The chains (which I forgot to order with the shift kit, so ordered separately) I paid VAT on to Lordgun, there was no handling fee or duty charged on them. This was because they're below the £135 threshold.
The shift kit and Magura clamp I paid the VAT+fees already detailed, because it's over £135.
None of what I bought is currently available from UK suppliers, and overall the experience has been good. YMMV.

What do we think, hive mind - Kogel pulleys or no?
The SRAM lower pulley has narrow/wide teeth, which the Kogel does not.

SRAM upper pulley is 12T, lower 14T, both Kogel pulleys are 14T.
