Thanks. I’m really please with how it turned out. Only annoyance was that it needed a stupid 26.6mm seatpost which I only found out after buying a 26.4 and finding it was too small; after fitting and making completely non-returnable obvs!
I used acetone to get the decals off the rims. However; I urge extreme caution. The rear rim is a good few years old and although the print came off very easily, there are very obvious ‘shadows’ remaining. Possibly due to sun fade?! I don’t know.
The front however was a brand new rim and the lettering was a real swine to remove. It’s very ‘thick’ and I found once the chemical breaks through the surface you sort of end up rubbing and smudging white paint around. You’ll get the worst of it off but to be honest, if this was one of my better bikes I’d be upset with the results!
Maybe there’s a better solution or some technique I don’t know about…
