"We don't recommend handling a lynx with bare hands"

Handling a lynx with bear hands is probably the only safe way.

Fuck mountain lions.
Even a house cat is scary AF if they go for you full bore with murder on the mind. Good luck peeling one of those little fuckers off your arm. Now scale up a house cat to Labrador size and you literally don’t stand a chance.

Not sure how I would react in that situation but there are loads of loose stones/rocks, I think I may have been hurling some at the beastie.

I literally shouted pick up a fucking rock the whole way through that. Fuck that.

Yeah, I’ve seen their account. Totally nuts. Slightly suspicious they might be giving it sedatives as well, it looks pretty dopey in a a lot of the videos.
Beautiful animals, just better off in nature and given a wide berth.

For cats, you need to have an affinity, if you have it you know it, if you don't have it refrain to speak about something that you don't know.

Just look at how this one moves. Running away or fighting one is like jumping when the falling elevator hits the ground.

Well I've learned:
- Pumas, cougars, panthers and mountain lions are the same thing
- I should have been more cautious when hiking in California a few years ago and ignoring signs warning about mountain lion activity. I thought they were lynxes/bobcats or something. The recently well-chewed large dog carcass right by the trailhead might have put me off, but I didn't see it until I returned.

I think if he bent down to pick a rock the cat would have closed the distance and maybe got him.
Kicking the rocks was what I was thinking.

Bet he took his gun next time he went there though.
The locals probably just say that to tourists so that they can have the trails to themselves to piss about with a big, friendly kitty.
