Exactly this. I had flu a few years ago and genuinely thought at points if I'd been older it would have finished me off

Yep. Had it once, in my twenties and will never call a bad cold ‘flu’ again. Sweats, chills, blinding headaches, I lost all grip on reality for two weeks.
