Nice. I had great fun stripping my ‘new’ bat back to the train. The YouTube videos are very therapeutic.
I’d use some sandpaper (or a random orbital sander if you can) to go back a bit further. If you’re going to oil it, half a teaspoon will do for the whole bat.
