  • I had the ‘pleasure’ of seeing him bat an entire chanceless day at the Oval while England toiled. They ended up declaring at 600+/2.

He really has been a special cricketer. Would have been very pleased to see him reach 10,000 test runs.

  • Ah, the 311

As for this team I hope this is the start of the likes of Mahmood and Parkinson playing a bit more, Salt and Jacks could be the evolution of Bairstow and Roy at the top of the order

  • 'Zac Crawley needs to come back out of County Cricket to refind his technique and build his confidence.'

    FTFY...

  • Picture the scene some 50 years hence.
Zac Crawey is long retired, after a successful England career,
and many years as a respected media pundit.
His grandchildren notice he has dozed off, again.
Zac awakes with a start, glances round the room, confirms he is safe and drifts off back to slumber. The teenage grandchildren agree amongst themselves, that once again, that over from Jimmy Anderson, when he got a 6-ball duck at Old Trafford, is still troubling him.

In other, unrelated, news, Kent Constabulary confirm that a cold cases review of the mysterious disappearance of a previous Kent cricket captain remains unsolved.

  • This is a brilliant start

  • Absolute peach from Parky

  • Fantastic knock that.

    (polite applause)

This will be a tough chase.

  • I've just realised that I have two tickets to the first Hundreds match next week at the Oval, which I now can't use.

    The match starts at 1830.

I paid forty pounds for the pair of (Gold) tickets.

Is anyone interested in buying them for £30?

Do you mean the Women's game on the Wednesday or the Men's game on the Thursday?

  • Is that 21st (women's) or 22nd (men's)? (^what he said)

  • Salt can only count in 4s... wow.

  • Oops.

The first one on the 21st. The women's game.

  • didnt touch it did he. where's the review Dave!

  • Wasted opportunity to have played Will Jacks

  • “Pakistan beats whoever they want to beat and they lose from whoever they want to. Its not Pakistan vs the opposition. Its Pakistan vs Pakistan"

What a howler of a drop

  • wow that must have hurt

  • shocking fielding

  • James Vince!

  • Good game looking at the score

  • Yeah was a corker but Pakistan should’ve won it really

  • The first one on the 21st. The women's game.

    Already got tickets.

  • I got offered 6 free complimentary tickets for that via Surrey, so I can only assume it's sold poorly and they're trying to drum a crowd in for TV. Deleted it straight away.

  • This just arrived. £36 on the bay of e. It is absolutely massive. 1465g. It's the biggest bat I've held.

  • ...but a half hour removing the tape (65g!) And two and a half grips and I ended up with this beauty:

Its cool as fuck. Even if I can't bat, I will be stoked using it. I got one for Christmas when I was about 12.

I don't think it has been knocked in properly.

  • Nice. I had great fun stripping my ‘new’ bat back to the train. The YouTube videos are very therapeutic.

I’d use some sandpaper (or a random orbital sander if you can) to go back a bit further. If you’re going to oil it, half a teaspoon will do for the whole bat.
