  • Has Don Cheadle finished yet?

  • A decent 15 mins of entertainment in an otherwise underwhelming few days.

  • Vingo eased up 5m before the line and lost a couple of seconds. Truly fucked. Good effort!

  • Cav at 20 minutes, 7.5k to go. Cutoff 45 minutes.

  • Jesus thats a tuff climb for #ourcav

  • I have no love for Carapaz anymore.

  • He had enough snap to sprint for the win or second at the end. Strange decision to go so early.

  • i think carapaz raced smart

    also uran off podium

  • He thought he could put time into Vingo, which it looked like he could.
Vingo clawed his way back though.

  • Yeah, fair enough. Going early makes sense for that.

If Pog had ridden with him that might have worked.

  • Glad I didn't turn the TV off, quality compilation of 9 dart checkouts on ITV4 now.

  • I love Carapaz

  • Billy is keeping the spirit of Alejandro Valverde Belmonte alive and well.

  • Of course he’s a certified class act!

*sorry everyone, was busy touching base all day, just circling back into the thread now.

  • Great ride from Cavendish, he was only a couple of minutes behind one of the world's greatest climbers in Chris Froome.

  • Who presented the Breakaway on Eurosport today?

  • Pog in rim brakes, just saying

  • This is a moral victory for Froome Dog.

  • The more I think about it Froome situation just seems sad. Had a terrible crash from which he'll never be the same. Put aside the money for a second, I doubt he'd choose this situation.

  • I’m sure he’s not suffering through a tour just for the salary.

So what is his biggest stumbling block at the moment?

Is his FTP too low to be at the pointy end? Can’t follow repeated surges? Poor recovery? Chronic pain?
    All the above?

  • To quote a friend, Froome is finished. Just realised it gives me no schadenfreude feelings.

  • It’s remarkable that he has managed to return to the pro peloton. His perseverance and dedication to come back is laudable. But the stuff about him trying to win the tour was ridiculous.

  • Getting paid £5.5m to roll around France in the grupetto, with literally no pressure on him to do anything for his team? I wouldn't shed too many tears.

  • I’d agree it is sad. He’ll be one of the last to realise he won’t get back there.
The flip side is he has had some of the best rehab a great salary and he’ll not be thinking what if, had he retired. So it’s not all doom and gloom.
