With 12 speed eagle and shimano there's now differences between the chains.
The 12 speed shimano chains have longer inner links and chamfered. So they don't quite mate up with eagle chainrings and cassettes the same way 11 speed chains were all cross compatible.Of course there's people on forums saying they are using shimano chains with eagle and vice versa with no problems...
But Shimano say you need the full ecosystem for hyperglide+ to work to its full potential.

I don't see why it would make a difference, espcially when teh chains (and KMC etc) should be cross compatible
