just heading home through the olympic park and i got one of those life on earth david attenborough moments as the flood water was breaching the path and pushing forward into the heart of the park
like the okavango delta as the first rivulets of water appear in the river channels fed from the uplands at the start of the rainy season , the trickle of water pushing forward into the desert

Wood Green was looking a bit damp last week after a water main burst.
Lots of shops and the High Road shut with a pretty major clean-up operation.

Just a bit ...
I rode along the High Road yesterday and didn't notice anything, but I see that the date for re-opening was Sunday, so I probably just missed the last of the clean-up.
Apparently, the burst main was a known problem and it didn't get repaired in time:

There must have been some significant insurance claims going on (or Thames Water incurring a lot of costs). I went past on Friday and there were well upwards of a dozen property maintenance vans on the High Street with loads of people in the shops cleaning up.

The Lea has broken free at Markfield park. There's literally inches of water on the towpath.

If our sun ever releases a solar flare large enough to wipe out life on earth, I shall spend my final moments checking the forum for the "Worried about sun spots" thread that @Oliver Schick will inevitably have started some years before.

Actually, I'm much more worried about the sky falling on my head, so perhaps I'll start that one a bit later ...

The sky is falling in and we are off to see the king
Cycling from e17 to E10 with my daughter on Friday, we saw four Foxy Loxies in the space of 5 minutes. /csb
