It's just occurred to me that I've not seen a single grasshopper or cricket nymph yet this year. I guess the crap weather has made the eggs hatch late.

We've got lots of grasshoppers on a small patch of wasteland next to my house. The cat has enjoyed many hours jumping after them.

@Yukirin I've seen plenty this year, I was taking photos of Dark-bush cricket and Roesel's Bush cricket nymphs only this weekend, though hard to tell relative numbers compared with other years. Hopefully the warm weather this coming week will mean that they'll be more active and visible.
