Other countries have hated England long before brexit.. See Scotland, Ireland and Wales. The arrogance of footballing culture and then the thuggery of 70s/80s/90s. Then the money of EPL and more arrogance from the press of golden gen. brexit is just another straw on the camels back.
Think I saw it up thread England are the milwall if international football. Everyone wants to see England get beaten apart from the English. It's the natural order of things.

Dour jock here. This is the first time I’ve been genuinely happy to support England (once Scotland exited, naturally). This team has set an excellent example of inclusive English identity to my (English) kids. What’s not to like? I’m sorry they didn’t win, they deserved to.

Thanks.although I'm not sure England deserved to win.
I agree this team has set an wonderful example and I'm proud of this team and what they have achieved so far. It's more a statement of how most other football fans of other countries see England generally.
