I exploded my last mini v on a pomp, and had long pulls to hand so thought I’d get that nodder touring bike energy
New background, less bins.
Fitted the brakes and they work, I think the wheels have a bit of a wobble, and either the free wheel or the whole rear wheel is sticky, they could do with a service tbqh, whole bike could.
Hopefully holds together just long enough to go for a bit of a ride and collect the finishing aesthetic parts
Was a new sensation for me today, no 450547 fitting v brakes
For the first time I fit them and every annoyance which came up I was just like “oh I need to do this” and “well looks like I need to do this”
Was quite nice to not be completely unhinged trying to google with on hand, fix with another and scream the whole time
Many might label it zen, a sense of achievement for their manual graft allowing them a sense of ownership through labour, I personally would just say it was a bit boring and would be good to have a coffee while a bike person does it

Thank you.

Much like the woods valve, the canti will never die. Muahahahaaa

Try slackening the chain a little to get rid of the stickiness.

This helped actually, think it still needs to be looked at but definitely bought time

In a haze i submit "£190" as an offer, instantly rejected (terrible ebay feature btw), i'm stuck at the slot machine now tho, one more spin. "£200" and i see the dreaded "your offer has been sent", slightly worried i think it's ok, they will reject.
Ha! Just found this thread. This is highly relatable. The fear and self loathing involved with making offers on ebay is something else.
What's the name of the powder coater who done the Raleigh. Do the have an insta?
Want something very similar but in a burgundy red with that sparkle effect. -

It was cyclone powdercoaters in Stockport, slap up job and they’ve done many friends bikes too
Shout out to @launchpadboi brining the final parts,
Looks swish, needs a few things done, rides fab, bar ends soon.

Thanks, it looked pretty good for only £50! Did you give them a RAL code or anything?
My sister in law lives quite near Stockport, might be worth bringing the frame with me next time I'm down.

Very nice and clean! The silver finishing kit suits it well.

Just smashed out 40k+ of city riding and gravel out in Wanstead flats
Absolutely stellar day out, with some pals,
Some fast roads out on the jubilee way, some crust tier single track and a good bunch of “Vietnam gravel” (gravel in which your eyes glaze over as you hike a bike, covered in mud and climb over obstacles on a narrow bush lined path, the opposite to gcn gravel)
The bike was perfectly suited for this, even with the current quirks.
Riding with people again was such a joy, egging one another on to do a particularly sketchy bit, chit chat over a kombucha, the inevitable bonk support on the way home. The whole package
Two stand out events were:
The Wanstead flats snack shop, really excellent, can get loads of gf and vegan food there in the middle of this park, and there are benches to sit on, all this surrounded by lovely gravel
I got left hooked by a car, was on the big road leading to tower bridge and me and another cyclist stopped at the lights, they go green, car just drives into us and give a dull stare and a shrug. Deranged person. Luckily me and the cyclist were fine
Just a smashing day out really , also got my first ride Dr Pepper in 18 months, it was so good

Bike is booked into the bike shop for later this week 😎
And my mv wheels are with arkane, so good to live near bike infrastructure!!!!!
@TotalShanner they actually have a house sheet of colours, but can order custom ones for a charge, I went for their purple with ruby flake
They have a few greys and silver / blue flake standard
@cozey if you openly post about having terminal aesthetic brain worms people with the condition open up to you, it’s almost like having a support group
“Hey guys, I’m maj, I’ve not ordered any cnc in 2 weeks, it’s been hard but I’m hoping to make it a month”
@Oddo very kind! I’ve wanted a silver finishing kit bike for a while, perfect exercise!
It looks rather handsome in the saddle, like a scaled down @elevatortohell build, might put cotton tape on the front of the bars, a nice grey / olive
@Josh @psg1ben if anyone is se/ or anywhere inside the m25 for that matter, would be down for a ride, I’m double vaxxed and avoiding most things inside/ public transport but if I can cycle there, come thru 😎

Thanks, I've been doing a bit of research and there's a powder coaters in Glasgow I could use but it seems they don't do fancy flake colours.
I'm calling cyclone today and ask about the possibility of posting a frame down to them. If not I'll hassle my brother in law into it.
Just experimented there with sanding a small section of the frame down with 2000grit then spraying it with clear coat and so far seems to have dried in OK...

bike is back from the shop,
bb got fixed, spins nicely now, was informed the rim has a small knick in it where it's joined, is probably causing the shudder. but otherwise everything is fine and dialed
friend sold me some paul long pauls very cheap, will try to resist putting them on here and save them for the mv, but who knows.
it's also all insured now, so ready to bimble about B)
final touch was this galaxy brain wahoo mount solution, it's a 26 bar shim and some leccy tape, works flawlessly. nasa have been in touch but i wont let this new technology be used for military purposes

avoiding most things inside/ public transport
Sounds good to me. Since my work has moved a lack of commuting means I'm barely riding atm. Will be nice to get out.
