Very useful, thanks. I will assume it originally vented at the step down.
My preference is to break out the concrete and replace with a new insulated raised timber floor but I imagine that would be quite fiddly and expensive.

If YouTube gosforth handyman hes done exactly what you said minus the insulation. You might need a ledger board so you can plant the joists hangers onto

That's amazing, thanks for the recommendation going to be watching a lot of these! I'm sure he's insulating too, hopefully a video of it soon.
