If you spent all that money on a custom bike, you'd think you'd get on that fitted you.
-
• #20079
That's not custom. Unless you mean custom build.

Thank fuck.

There is also this one: https://www.stayercycles.com/route12

That looks good. Except the Titsey descent. It’s a nice climb, but suspect less fun to descend.
Thanks

A single giant skid! I mean, you can always go down on the road if conditions are wet..
It also intersects with this if you want to add variations: https://www.stayercycles.com/route7

Those Stayer routes miss a lot of obvious bridleway links in the area.

Are those mudguards just SKS with the mounty arm bits blacked out?
-
• #20088
They're Velo Orange ones (black metal guards and stays).

Oh aye, cheers.

Titsey descent (LHS of the road going down) is fun.

Had an emergency gravel ride at Rendlesham at the weekend.
Pair of CX Pros and off we go.
Wouldve been fucked by the tiniest amount of mud though!

Strongly recommend helicopters tape ASAP.
The rubber downtube/BB of my bike prevents a lots of potential chips

Good point re heli tape.
Its a very rare occasion itll be doing this.
Going to pop some on.
Really surprised how well and accomplished the ride was.
Gravel and sandy was taken really well.

Faced the same emergency, arrived at the same solution.

As for the worthiness of the bike for gravel. The tracks were far better than most of the roads i ride within the M25!

For any Catalan based folk, or those looking for a summer adventure, saw this site recently with some good looking routes around Girona:

I’m planning on doing some ultra events next year and although I’ve done 600k on fixed I want to have a fighting chance of getting a decent time. Picked up a diverge comp carbon we had at work. Futureshock, swatbox, takes mudguards and even a rack if I need it. Rode it around 45miles over the last few days and I’m quite impressed.
